What is Founding Folio?

What’s this podcast about? It’s simple, really. I’m going through the documents that America was founded on. Every week, I’ll bring you the original text for various documents and speeches from the founding days of the United States.

I’ll present these documents as-is…at first. Then, we’ll dive into them, looking at their pros and cons with eyes that have seen 250 years of wear and tear.

Let’s dive into what it means by “We hold these truths to be self evident” and “We the people”.

America has come a long way. The history of our nation is beautiful and ugly. Wondrous and horrifying.

What better time to look back on where we started and ask, “Did this work?” and “Could we do better?”
